Vezené is a Greek bistro bar with roots in Meganisi, Lefkada. It carries a distinct personality, an international outlook, and a deep love for local traditions. Since opening its doors in May 2011, it has been full of life, radiating the energy of a place where people genuinely enjoy themselves — a feeling that effortlessly spreads from table to table.
It quickly gained wide recognition and admiration from diners, critics, and chefs alike, becoming the first restaurant in Athens to highlight and establish distinctive off-Broadway cuts of meat, as well as revive the nearly forgotten art of dry-aging. Through the philosophy of whole-animal butchery, Vezené reintroduced Greek classics such as giouvetsi and pastitsio in a contemporary and thoughtful way.
The cuisine follows paths that move between rustic intensity, family warmth, childhood memories, and creative inspiration, all brought together by a deep sense of umami richness. In its wood-fired oven, pies, fresh seafood, and dry-aged meats are prepared side by side, uniting land and sea while combining fresh ingredients with ancient techniques that remain simple at their core.
Vezené is also known for its Instagram-famous dessert, Ari’s Deal Closer. Its tiny yet vibrant bar is always stocked with fine spirits and natural wines. Serving a dual purpose, it also functions as a gathering spot where friends are the first to taste new creations from the kitchen — the chef’s unofficial table.
